Daniel NKAMENI: testimony from an international alumni

Daniel NKAMENI graduated in Actuarial Engineering, class of 2023. He joined ENSAE Paris in 2AD as part of the double-diploma program with ISSEA Yaoundé (Cameroon). He is currently an Actuarial Consultant at Detralytics France and a CIFRE doctoral student in parametric insurance at CREST - ENSAE Paris.

 

Why did you choose ENSAE Paris and what do you see as its main strengths?

"The actuarial track at ENSAE Paris fitted in perfectly with my career plans. What's more, as ENSAE Paris is one of the best schools in France, it guaranteed me an excellent quality of training.

What advantages have you gained from your choice of ENSAE Paris?

"I went on to do a doctorate, a step I wouldn't have been able to take without the solid theoretical foundations I acquired at ENSAE Paris. The school's training is designed to encourage students to constantly deepen their thinking, an essential skill both in the research field and in the professional world."

How did ENSAE Paris help you find a job and make a success of your first steps in the job market?

"I got my current job thanks to a teacher-researcher at ENSAE. The school's teaching staff form a vast network and are in constant contact with the business world, which in my opinion is one of ENSAE's major assets."

If you could keep just one memory from your time at ENSAE Paris, what would it be?

"My term as President of the ENSAE International Students' Office left a deep impression on me. During this experience, with the support of ENSAE Paris, I contributed to a noble cause: welcoming, settling in and integrating the school's international students."

What advice would you give to future applicants interested in ENSAE Paris?

"I'd recommend ENSAE to any student with a passion for statistics and economics, who wants to advance his or her career plans at a leading school in these fields.
