The ability to deliver an engaging and effective research presentation is an essential skill for researchers from all disciplines, and is crucial for career development and advancement in science, economics or finance.
This course, unlike typical public speaking courses, is designed specifically for improving research-based presentations skills. Students will learn about strategies and tools to help present their own research with relevance and clarity in a small, conference-style format. This includes techniques on effective speech delivery, aspects of verbal and non-verbal communication skills and strategies for overcoming speech anxiety. Students will be expected to give productive feedback on style and content for their colleagues.
