Foreign languages

The study of foreign languages contributes to the excellence of ENSAE’s student-engineer training, allowing them to easily fit into the globalized labor market.

English courses

English is mandatory for all first-year and second-year students in the “cycle ingénieur”. In addition to attending weekly classes based on their level, students must have at least an English language proficiency level of B2 to graduate. All official exams (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) are accepted. ENSAE offers one free registration to the TOEIC examination to all students.

English is mandatory for third-year students who have not yet passed their B2 examination. It is optional for all other students.

Workload: 1h30 / week for students with a B2+ level; 3 hours for students with a B2- level

Other language courses

In addition to English, first-year and second-year students must study another language, among the following: French as a foreign language, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese.

Studying a second foreign language is optional in the third year.

Workload: 1h30 / week, except for students starting a new language (2 classes of 1h30)
