ENSAE has long been an "école d'application" of the Ecole Polytechnique, France's most prestigious engineering school. ENSAE provides specialized training in economics, statistics and finance for Polytechnique students who have completed the 3 year program at Polytechnique. Some of these students are trained as managing executives of the French National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). ENSAE and the Ecole Polytechnique are also part of the Master Research "Analyse et Politique Economiques", accredited with the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, the Ecole Normale Supérieure, the Ecole des Ponts and HEC. By 2012 when ENSAE is relocated on the campus of the Ecole Polytechnique, links between both institutions will grow substantially.
