This internship is designed for students willing to take a one year break between the second and the third year of the program. It provides an opportunity to discover the firm much more thoroughly than the second year internship. The starting date is typically between the end of June and the beginning of September. The one year internship consists of either a 12-month internship or two consecutive 6-month internships. In the latter case, both internships can cover complementary aspects of the same subject. It can take place either in a private firm (often a bank or an insurance company), in a research center, or an international organization. In terms of scientific objectives, the one-year internship is identical to the second year internship. This experience is more and more popular. Indeed, it provides students with an opportunity to spend a long spell abroad without the financial cost of foreign programs in economics or finance.
