The second year internship lasts from 10 weeks to 4 months between the end of the second year of courses and the beginning of the third year (mid-June to mid-October). Its objective is clearly to put into practice the scientific knowledge acquired during the first and second years of the program. At the end of the second year of study, students have a level equivalent to BScs in mathematics, statistics and economics. They should be able to use their command of economics, statistics, econometrics, computing and financial mathematics to tackle relatively advanced well-defined subjects. The second year internship plays a crucial role in ENSAE's program, as it provides the students with their first opportunity to apply scientific knowledge to professional objectives. Choosing a subject is an important step in terms of establishing career prospects. The second year internship also largely determines the specialization during the final year. This internship can take place abroad, in a firm, a research center or an international organization.
